"Kaguya-hime," the protagonist of Japan's oldest story, "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," and "Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto," known since ancient times as the deity who governs the moon. Reinterpreting these two figures through the shared symbol of the "moon," SOW INOUE presents "Tsukuyomi no Kaguya-hime," depicted through our unique worldview.

The copper-colored moon floating in the background symbolizes the boundary between the earthly realm and the moon. At the feet of the princess, who is clad in a twelve-layered ceremonial kimono, we have placed golden dragon clouds to express her existence as a celestial being.

This piece is defined by the "Earth" that the princess holds tenderly in her hands. Her posture embodies the fate of having to return to the moon, her feelings for the people on Earth, and the love and memories that remain undiminished even from afar.

The front features the simple, quiet placement of the text "KAGUYA / THE SILENT MOON." We emphasized the balance with the impact of the back design. This is another story of "Kaguya-hime," who thinks of the Earth from the moon.
