The Shinden was a prototype interceptor fighter developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy at the end of World War II to counter American B-29 bombers.

Its distinctive canard design with concentrated cannons in the nose and a rear-mounted propeller was an extremely innovative aircraft design for its time.

However, the war ended during its test flight phase, and it never saw combat.
Its advanced design was studied in the United States after the war and is still regarded worldwide as an aircraft demonstrating high technological prowess.

In Japan, a full-scale model is on display at the Tachiarai Peace Memorial Museum in Fukuoka Prefecture. In recent years, it has gained renewed attention after appearing in the movie "Godzilla Minus One" as the protagonist's aircraft, piloted by actor Ryunosuke Kamiki.
